Around Town
This bitter cold is perfect for ducking into a coffee shop for coffee and a pastry most of an afternoon. Yesterday I spent the afternoon at Four Letter Word in Logan Square. This super cozy shop had some of the best Columbia drip I've had in a while, and the music varied from Colleen Green to Kenderick Lamar during the few hours I was there.
Other favorites you should explore this week:
Spoken Cafe, Ravenswood
Elaine's Coffee Call, Lincoln Park
Gaslight Coffee Roasters, Logan Square
Brü Coffee, Wicker Park
The Wormhole, Wicker Park
Winter's tough when your summer Saturdays are spent at Chicago's many weekly farmers markets (i.e., the Lincoln Park City Market is a favorite spot of mine on Wednesdays or Saturdays)! Though nothing beat the smells of baked goods and wild flowers or the colors of fresh produce and unique art, Chicago has a some great indoor markets to last you until May.
The Chicago French Market, The Loop Closed Sundays
Green City Market, Lincoln Park Saturdays, 8:00 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Joong Boo Market, Avondale Asian Grocery, Open Daily
The Mart, River North Weekend Shows and Events
