Americanah,

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

I first learned of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie from her essay, "We Should All Be Feminists".

This novel is poignant, and tells of the story between a Nigerian couple who eventually leave Nigeria to pursue life in the U.S. and the UK, respectively.

Recommended for those who:

  • Like themes of class and race

  • Enjoy stories that take you on a literal and figurative journey

  • Read books with a strong female protagonist
